2018, laser light & motors
Collaboration with Jessica Scalzo & Yi Tian
This experimental project investigates various aspects of periodicity, a ubiquitous but abstract phenomenon in nature, and translates them into experiential design work. We developed our work from the idea of periodicity as something complex and ungraspable to our physical senses, but whose regularity emerges through record and documentation.
In this work, a laser light attached to the device rotates on two axes. To the naked eye, the moving points of the laser lights appear to move randomly, but if you slow down the shutter speed and take a picture, you can see the patterns created by the rotation.
